New job - old shoes

So today was the day. Arrived on time, barely, met some people, did some work, learned some stuff on the computer and in a swoosh my first day at my new job was over. It went really fast and yes, I did enjoy it. I think I'm gonna be quite happy working in a shop-environment again.

These shoes are a find that my god-mother made years back, and lended me to wear at different old-fashion markets. She hasn't asked for them back yet...But considering the small size of these shoes, there's not really anybody in her famliy who'd be able to wear them anyway. I'm not complaining!

I seem to have phases of downloading loads of inspirational images from the internet. A couple of months back it was illustrations from vintage patterns, now it's pin-ups, such as this one:

Beautifully painted, lovely colours, fantastic light and so on. And the hair and clothes! Ah, the glamour! In some ways being born a few decades earlier would have been pretty awesome, but in other ways we have come so far when it comes to womens rights etc that I don't mind living now either. Just can't have it all.

Those shoes are awesome! And happy to hear you are enjoying your new job. I was born in the wrong era. I actually wouldn't mind this whole women's rights. I think I would've been quite happy in the 50's a s a house wife :)

Btw, I've tagged you in my blog! Go and see.

Mrs. Munster: List completed! Well, in many ways I would have liked to do the housewife thing aswell, but then I think about the wonderful internet and all the other stuff they didn't have back then...

Those shoes are amazing! But how long does it take you to do up the laces?!

Emily: Not long at all actually, because there is a trick! First of all the laces don't go through holes on the sides, but these hook-like thingys, so it's pretty easy to do two hooks at a time holding one string above the other. Very tricky to explain! Basically just zig-zagging... :D

Nadine: Well, it seems I have similar taste in shoes as your younger self! ;)

Freelancer: Thanks, I do tent to feel slightly akward wearing the skirt though as it is soooo short.
