Alive and shopping!

I haven't gotten back to sewing yet, but I'm definitely back to shopping, especially at flea-markets and charity-shops. In fact, I did some thrifting earlier today! One of the items to come home with me was this pretty negligee...I'm not exactly sure I'll wear it (it only cost 50 cents and it's kinda fragile) but I'm thinking I might have it hanging on a wall somewhere, along with the rest of my collection.

A couple of weeks ago I also found this retro plant holder, a perfect match to my flower pot table!

I don't know if it's because it's winter now, and x-mas coming soon, but I'm having a thing for red, black and white at the moment. I wouldn't mind our whole apartment decorated in those colours, checkered floors, black sofa with red cushions, kitchen cupboards in shiny red and so on. Maybe this will be the case someday, in a couple of rooms at least. I'm gonna start with making a cute cushion out of this retro fabric, and maybe hanging something nice on the retro hanger...

Last but not least, I have adopted yet another pair of shoes. Who knew you could "need" so many?

Done any thrifting lately?

Summer is finally here

Ah, warm weather, finally! I've been out and enjoying it almost every day, going to the beach, sitting on the balcony and shopping(!). I've got tons of stuff to put on the blog, but haven't felt like staying at home and taking pictures when the weather was so good. So here's some stuff I've had for a few weeks already...

Cute shirt in an unusual colour in my wardrobe; green!

A cardigan that button up all the way, in a childrens size (140), which cost me 1 euro. I've been looking for this type of garment for ages, and I'll keep on looking as this one was a bit on the smaller side. (I'm 161 cm tall so 140 is a bit tight) I'm also wearing my new ballerinas, which I got in the sales for merely 3 euros. The trousers have appeared here before...

Now this was pretty exiting to find as well, a boned corset thingy with a hidden zipper on the side. The colour was so lovely, it's a lot more dark red-ish in reality, in a nice shiny material.

A real bargain; nightie and dressing gown for 2 euros. The don't actually belong together, and the nightie is a bit big, but they're just so pretty. I wouldn't even know where to look to get this type of items in a modern version, and I bet I would be paying a lot more than 1 euro/ piece.

Today it's only a week left until our trip to mallorca, I'm getting really excited and planning outfits in my head, wondering how my houseplants will survive and so on. I cannot wait!

Nightie, nightie!

There's this charity shop in town that I've been to a few times, and the last time I went there I decided to dig through the box of undergarments and pyamas and the like. Down at the bottom, overlooked all the previous times I'd been there, was a treasure of vintage nighties and underskirts and more. Check out this one in blue;

Similar thing but in pink;

This one looked 30's at first but upon closer inspection I was unsure due to the quality of the seams. It's actually light blue and white stripey, not as white as it appears here;

There was a skin coloured slip that was even my size;

And a white one that was a bit too big, but still wearable, I think...

And then there were these funny looking underpants that I'll probably cut up and make something else out of, the lace was pretty nice.

I also got a couple of half slips, plain ones, for like 50 cent a piece. And this oversized pyama top in leopard print! I intend to make something else out of this one too, I'm just not too sure what it's gonna be yet, any suggestions? Right now I'm off for a shower and a quick tidy-up of the flat, my mum's coming over in about an hour!
