My vintage Nokias

Did you know that before Nokia made mobile phones, they made rubber? Nokia is still one of the most well known rubber boot brands in Finland. Apparently they made other types of shoes as well, such as these;

My dad found them when they were cleaning out an old shed where my great grandfathers house once stood. They have been in my possession for a few years, but I haven't used them as I had no appropriate not too bright white laces. Until I took a trip to a local flea-market last Sunday.

I wore them out yesterday, with my matching (now with waistband!) sailor style trousers, when I found these sunglasses;

They are slightly too big for my little head, and not as cat-eye as I would want, but for the price of 1 euro...Close enough.

Those shoes are pretty neat looking and I think those glasses you found for 1 euro are great for the price. It's hard to find vintage glasses at that price over here.

cool with the Nokia shoes. There's an advertisement for Nokia shoes + a picture of three women wearing nokia rubber shoes, 1926, in the book ´History of Footwear in Norway, Sweden and Finland` by June Swann, page 280 ;)

Dinah; Thanks, over here you can find all sorts of thing really cheap in charity shops. Too bad 90 percent of it is junk...

Toft; How interesting, are they wearing rubber boots or shoes like mine?! :)

It's a black and white photo, but it looks like, that the 3 girls are wearing a black/black variant of the same shoes that you have - but it's hard to tell because of the picure quality.
