Alive and blogging

Finally, I got most of my necessary computer stuff up and running, camera successfully connected, pictures transferred and so on. Phew! So here's an outfit I wore shopping the other day;

And of course I didn't notice that my way to big seamed stockings weren't looking to good around the ankles...Until I was already in town. Anybody need some size 9 stockings? I should have ironed that skirt too.

Apart from trying to get a working whole of my new mac, I have spent the last two weeks or so sewing on our home-made caravan sunroof, the dress for my brothers wedding and this fascinator covered with feathers. And catching up with all the blogs out there! Sadly all my bookmarks went with Melissa, so there's a lot of blogs still missing from my list, maybe yours was one of them? All in all, it's good to be back!

50!

This week has been spent working on my latest dress;

I'm wearing two of my (home-made) petticoats underneath and it moves soo nicely and feels so comfy I don't want to take it off!

I did something I rarely do and bid (and won!) an auction on a finnish auction site. I won this Asos fascinator (originally with much brighter red dots). I'm not sure if I'll re-vamp it in some way of use it as it is, the biggest reason for bidding on it was cause I wanted the netting, don't know where to buy it...

I also went shopping today...The result; I now own 50 pairs of shoes. Pair #49 was a pair of red hiking boots (half price on sale and soo comfy) and pair #50 look like this;

Bought from Citymarket. I also bought myself a beach-bag (also on sale) to go with a hat that I bought at Kärkkäinen last weekend.

Beach 2010-bring it on!

Time flies...Next weekend Mr Kitten and I are going away again. He's gonna run half a marathon while I go through the charity shops and flea-markets of Pori. Also, one of the country's nicest beaches is situated close to the camping area we'll be staying at, and the weather forecast says it's gonna be really warm. Yes, I am exited, and I will be packing my bikini.

Fascinator and mini-beret

Here's the fascinator I made and wore to my cousins wedding on new years eve. It's simply covered with a few feathers and a butterfly that came with a plant someone gave to us a while back.

My first mini-beret!

From the inside; just a hair clip to hold it in place.

Hope you've all had a nice weekend! Me and Mr. Kitten went for a skiing trip in the caravan this weekend, the plan was to ski on the first day and do slalom on the following but then, in the evening on the first day the heater in the caravan refused to work. And outside (and inside the caravan) it was about - 15. So we spent saturday night driving all the way back home...

Kitten gets fascinated

Check out the latest addition to my wardrobe. Man this thing was difficult to photograph, or perhaps the problem was getting it to sit right on my head...

Anyway, it was great fun to make as I sewed it mostly by hand and because it didn't take too long. It's basically a piece og thick felt, some netting and three satin roses. And a hair clip.

If I make another one I'll probably use a round base and make it so that the netting doesn't really cover my face, as it was really difficult to get it straigth and mostly just made my already small chin even smaller. Trial and error baby. It looks really pretty when not on me though. I think I'll keep it on my Jbl creature, so that I can still enjoy it. From a safe distance.

Hopefully my next project will turn out better, I bought some fake fur in a beautiful dark brown/mink colour. Now I need to figure out wether to make a stole or a more cape-like thing out of it. Hmm...

The glove in the picture is the one that turned out better out of the two I made recently. Made from the same fabric as the roses on the fascinator btw. Happy fastlagstisdag!
