So I couldn't pass up the chance to listen to some blues and rockabilly music so close to home, so I dressed up and did my hair and convinced a friend to join me. My hair;
My outfit;
My brand new shoes; (from Anttila)
While I waited for my friend to pick me up, I quickly looked up the basic step for jive on youtube, just to sort of get a feel for the rhythm of it. We were among the first 5 people to hit the dance floor, both my friend and I enjoy dancing and just could not sit still. All the bands were really good so there was a lot of dancing going on. We had a great time, but, I'm still too shy to go up and talk to strangers, so even if there were a few people with rockabilly style there, I didn't make any new friends.
However, at the end of the night this guy (normally dressed) comes up to me and starts talking. He asks if I take dance classes and if I have a dance partner and all sorts, turns out he's a dance teacher at the local dance club, which I didn't know existed. Apparently my dancing was so bad that he thinks I should learn to do it properly, ha ha. No seriously, he had noticed my attempt at jiving (I guess no-one else was jiving) and saw some kind of potential. So he invited Mr Kitten and me to come and learn to really dance (all the dances you see in Let's Dance/Dancing with the stars/Strictly come dancing on tv) and maybe, possibly compete at some point...(!)
So I'm going a bit crazy at the moment. Was he serious? Had he had to much to drink? Did he realize that we are complete beginners? But...he did say he prefers teaching people who don't know anything but has the will to learn...? So. I don't know. I'd love to learn, Let's Dance is the only thing I really watch on tv, so why not? I have no idea what will come out of this, if anything at all...Just have to wait and see!

Your really looking the look! love those shoes
that's funny, about a year ago i bought a pair of shoes that look almost like yours, apart from that they are differently coloures (purple and brown-tones). however they are from a totally different brand (5th avenue). now i wonder - is it thef or are the two brands really the same, just called differently in different coun tries? or did the designer of the shoe sell his design to different brands in different countries? it'S quite mysterious... and shows that both you and me have great taste =)
You look fabulous! Jive classes sounds great. I went to a lindy hop class yesterday for the first time and already loving it!
Your hair looks so good! About the dancing. I love dancing and have always wanted to learn to dance jive etc. But where to find a partner for the classes! You are a one lucky gal to have one! Not too many of the men I know like's to dance... Or if they do, they are over 40 years. Have I chosen my Mr B. wrong? :)
SO lovely! Your hair is gorgeous!
I adore your outfit and the hair. It's absolutely amazing. I took dance lessons many years ago and learned to jive amongst other dances. It was great fun and I with I had stuck with it. You two will have a great time. Maybe I should see if I can freshen up my moves. I admit I don't remember much. It's also a great work out without the gym and too much sweat and ugly gym clothes. PS: nice shoes!!!
Gingey; Thanks! :)
Fröken Lila; We sure do ;) And that's an interresting question...
Mrs Munster; Thanks, wow, I wouldn't mind learning lindy hop either, glad you had fun!
Betty; And I just spent 3 hours cutting it off...My Mr Kitten isn't far from 40 so I don't know, maybe it is an age thing?
Ms B; Thank you very much!
J&B; Thanks, I know, fun and workout all in one -fantastic!
Erika; Tackar!
Your blog ..... it's amazing and soooo inspiring. Nice to find you!
A small footprint from Agneta & Sweden
Ps. I have an ongoing jewelry contest on my blog. Welcome! Ds
Sinnlighet; Thank you and welcome to my blog! I may have to check that competition out... :)
I really like the first pic of your hair, it looks lovely!
Do the lessons, you won't regret it! They're addictive! And the best part is they encourage social dancing because it's the best way to learn.
Miss K; You are probably right...I intend to do everything in my power to make it happen :)
